Oqtane 5.1.1 Released

April 16, 2024

By: Shaun Walker

The 5.1.1 release is primarily a stabilization release, including a variety of improvements to the Static Server-Side Rendering support for Blazor in .NET 8.

The 5.1.1 release has been upgraded to the latest .NET SDK 8.0.4. It is very important to upgrade your development and production environments to the latest SDK, as the recent .NET 8 SDKs contain a lot of critical fixes for Blazor. In particular, the rendering issues which required StreamRendering to be enabled have now been resolved when using the latest SDK.

A number of issues that were identified through production usage of the 5.1 release were resolved in 5.1.1. These include redirect behavior after performing OAuth2 or OIDC authentication, an auth cookie change from Strict to Lax to match the latest .NET Identity configuration and prevent cookie rejection scenarios, and a number of usability improvements to the RichTextEditor component.

To date, the open source project has recorded over 2322 pull requests from 54 contributors and has published 43 official releases, which ranks it among the most active open source projects within the .NET Foundation. The Oqtane framework continues to evolve at a rapid pace to meet the needs of .NET developers. The 5.1.1 release is available for download on Github and is running in production at https://www.oqtane.org, https://www.blazorcms.net, and https://www.blazorkit.net.
