Roadmap

The next Oqtane release will be version 6.1.5 and is expected to be released in mid August.

.NET 10

  • Will be released week of Nov 11 during .NET Conf
  • Long term support (LTS) release
  • Oqtane 10 will be released at same time (major version numbering will be synchronized)
  • Include support for .NET Identity Pass Keys
  • Scroll position in Static rendering fixed in .NET 10
  • NavigateTo exception during debugging fixed in .NET 10
  • Consider adding Aspire integration

Oqtane Marketplace

The Oqtane Marketplace was originally designed using an "App Store" approach where all interactions were expected to occur through the Oqtane Framework. This model works well however there is a need to support other user flows. As a result, the Marketplace will be evolving which will result in the following benefits:

  • Installation Id not required when ordering
  • License creation independent from order process
  • Allow multiple users per company/organization
  • More product license options
  • Support for traditional online payment and procurement flows

Changes to the Marketplace are expected to be deployed in late August

Discussion

ImageSharp recently announced a moderate security advisory (https://github.com/SixLabors/ImageSharp/security/advisories/GHSA-rxmq-m78w-7wmc) which affects Oqtane 6.1.4. The 6.1.5 release of Oqtane will address this issue.

Time zone conversions can throw exceptions for DateTime.MinDate and DateTime.MaxDate values. This will be resolved in 6.1.5.

@sbwalker expressed a desire to improve the getting started experience for new Oqtane developers. A Visual Studio application template is being developed which would allow an Oqtane application to be created without having to download/clone the framework source code. This template will hopefully be available with Oqtane 6.1.5.

@zyhfish is developing a Text Editor Provider based on Radzen. It will be a native HTML editor and will have integration with Oqtane's file manager, etc... Radzen is available under an open source MIT license, which is beneficial as other popular rich text editors such as CK Editor and TinyMCE are now commercial.

@sbwalker proposed changing the Monthly Core Contributor Meetings to use the same approach as the .NET Community Standups (ie. inclusive/public rather than exclusive/private)... which means that attendance would be open to everyone in the community. Stay tuned for more info.

The next meeting is scheduled for September 3, 2025.
